Bob Murphie - Pipes

Bob Murphie is a retired VPD inspector and the Pipe Sergeant for the Band. He has been in the band since 1914 and is the main reason the band was able to go to London.

Bruce Eburne - Drum Major

Bruce is a retired VPD officer and has been Drum Major for over 30 years. There's a line of band members waiting for him to ride into the sunset, but he shows no signs of slowing down.

Wild Bill Sneddon was born in the U.K. and has idolized the royal family for years. His family thinks it may be borderline obsession, but in the band it is seen as a fun quirk.

Dan Sutherland - Tenor

Dan 'Doc' Sutherland is a retired VPD officer, canadian army paratrooper, and has the coolest collection of tattoos this side of the Fraser Valley. If you buy him a coffee he might show you his donkey.

Dave Caven - Tenor

Dave is a VPD constable and Cal's partner in the traffic department. The story goes that Cal heard Dave drumming on his locker in the station and was so impressed he invited Dave out to band practice, very similar to the locker room scene in Top Gun. Some in the band believe he is the chosen one to become drum major once Bruce retires.

Daryl Graham - Bass

Daryl carries the cougar. According to Neilly Sloan, he is legendary for a mid parade heat exhaustion collapse/immediate revival that saw him finish the show.

Dave Glover - Pipes

Dave has dreamed of marching with the guards since he visited Edinburgh Castle as a young lad. He also once accidentally set fire to a mountain side in Trail, BC.

Dave Anderson - Pipes

Dave is a retired firefighter and the senior piper in the band. He is infamous for questioning the London trip all the way up until the gates of the Palace.

Doug Hume - Band Manager

Doug was unfortunately born with an affinity for bagpipe music, but no natural talent with which to learn the instrument. Therefor he did the next best thing and decided to be the world's best band manager, and we're lucky to have him!

Ed Wagstaff - Snare

Ed is retired RAF pilot and the Drum Corporal of the Band. He has been in pipe bands for 50 years and is referred to as the oldest drummer in the commonwealth.

Glen Richards - Standard Bearer

Jim Dipalo - Snare

Jim is a retired VPD officer and has been in the band for over 30 years, and has sported all manner of facial hair styles during that time span.

John Briggs - Snare 

John is the band historian and likes to visit foreign hospitals while on tour with the band.

Julie Winstanley - Tenor Drummer

Julie is a tenor drummer with the VPPB and has played with the band since 2008. She wasn't at all excited about the possibility of meeting the prince. Not even a little bit.

Katie Frye - Pipes

Katy is a biologist and has played with the band since 2013. She loves ice cream and her favorite karaoke song is 'Zombie'.

Mark McEvoy - Snare 

Mark is a living saint, and loves visiting old cathedrals and mass while on tour with the band. Anyone who has anyone bad to say about Mark, will have to deal with the big guy upstairs.

Matt Reid - Pipes

One of the rare band members in their 30's, Matt is the pipe corporal and an accomplished father. He is renowned for his ability to find five dollar bills in odd places.

Michael Beech - Pipes

No one is quite sure where Michael Beech came from. His accent should be studied further by linguist to give more definitive evidence of upbringing, and disprove the popular wolf mother theory amongst the band.

Mike MacDonald - Pipes

Mike used to be a street performer and made a decent living for a busker. One day a mohawked bagpiper with flame throwers attached to his drones set up next to Mike's usual spot on the street and things were never quite the same.

Mike MacNeil - Pipes

Mike is a retired fire chief known for his mid parade bath-room break in chinatown during the chinese new year parade. He is also the band quartermaster and has vowed to carry on his duties in that capacity for life.

Noel Chalmers - Pipes

Noel is the former band treasurer and since he was a boy has always let the powerful effects of pipe music linger in his life.

Sarah McLachlan - Singer

Sarah was inducted into the band as an Honorary member in early 2014 thanks to the ensemble performance of her hit song 'Angel' she gave with the band. Her attendance record at weekly band practices since has been 'spotty' at best.

Scott Vallance - Snare

Scotty is the lead tip for the VPPB and swears despite all his grade 1 experience and playing in the worlds, that the shows the VPPB put on are far and away more challenging.

Stuart Johnston - Pipes

Stuart was born in Scotland and has admired the guards since he was a boy. It was his dream to Join the guards as a boy but was unable to join due to a tragic accident as a child.

Tim is a retired VPD officer who also loves eating exclusively vegetables. He is also a talented whistle, uilleann, and flute player, but that doesn't have anything to do with his diet.
